Our Founder
Fernando D. Martins
Founder, Lawyer and Notary Public
Fernando D. Martins, is the founding lawyer of Martins Law Firm, where he focuses his practice on Immigration Law, Criminal Defence, and Wills & Powers of Attorney. Fernando graduated with a combined Honours BA in Political Science and French from the University of Western Ontario in 1988 and graduated from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, in 1991. Fernando is a proud member of the Law Society of Ontario, having been called to the bar in 1993 and appointed Notary Public for the Province of Ontario in the same year.

With over 30 years of experience and with a deep commitment to justice, Fernando has been instrumental in successfully handling thousands of immigration and criminal cases, making a meaningful difference in the lives of his clients. Fernando has represented clients from Canada, Portugal, Brazil and around the world with their immigration journey, helping them build new lives, reunite them with loved ones, and navigate complex legal systems with confidence.

Fernando regularly represents his clients in the Federal Court, Ontario Superior Court, Ontario Court of Justice, and Immigration Appeal Division.
